Nearly all of us know of someone who has suffered from breast cancer or from some other form of cancer. No one likes cancer, however, we do not have to allow it to determine our fate. We can research to fight it and build better lifestyles.
One of the most common and over looked things to do is incorporate a lifestyle of prevention. I understand that many have the fatalistic attitude that you can't prevent cancer. However, science overwhelmingly disputes that notion. You can find the research at the American Cancer Society about Food and Fitness. Incorporating a lifestyle that incorporates fitness and nutrition is imperative to preventing cancer.
Even if you do all the right things, you can still get cancer. Conversely, those who are fit have a better fighting chance and have less problems during recovery. Post recovery programs from cancer treatment, like the Pink Program at Piedmont Hospital have become more common in hospitals as well.
Don't forget that fitness is not just about looking good, but it's about creating a strong body. A body that is more capable of fighting disease and injuries. With that kind of attitude, you are more likely to reach your other fitness goals.
